Born in Gimli, Ewanchuk became school inspector for Roblin, Carman and Winnipeg after World War II, and received an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Winnipeg in recognition of his contribution to Ukrainian-Canadian history and education. -- The collection contains drafts, manuscripts and research papers of Ewanchuk's books, including Spruce, Swamp and Stone (1977), Pioneer Profiles (1981), Hawaiian Ordeal (1986), and Pioneer Settlers (1988). -- Related are photographs (Pc 92) documenting his 1986 publication.
